What to do if you have been raped or sexually assaulted within the last 7-10 days

If you have been a victim of sexual assault in the last 7-10 days, we understand how scared and confused you might be.  You do not have to cope with this alone.  Twelves Company is a dedicated charity experienced in supporting victims of rape and serious sexual assault.

It can be difficult at this time of crisis to think clearly about your choices - though it may not feel like it, you still have options available to you.  The power of 'what happens next' remains with you.

Even if the thought of reporting the incident to the police scares you, you should still think about your emotional and physical welfare.  Your safety, health and wellbeing is paramount.

Twelves Company is independent of any other agency so you do not have to worry about the police or any other agency or person (including your loved ones) finding out about your assault.  Our staff will treat anything you say to them with complete confidentiality*.

Contact us immediately by either phoning 08458 12 12 12 or email admin@twelvescompany.co.uk.  We will arrange an emergency meeting to discuss your future options.

If you are in danger....

If you are in danger it is important that you call the Police on 999 in an emergency or 08452 777444 in a non-emergency or visit http://www.devon-cornwall.police.uk or find a safe place to stay.

If you need to flee a dangerous situation but have children or other responsibilities that prevent you from escaping, please call us on 08458 12-12-12.   We have contacts with many specialist agencies within the city and can coordinate your safe exit and future accommodation and care.

* Confidentiality will be broken if our staff believe you, or somebody else, is at serious risk of harm.  Confidentiality will always be broken if we believe a child is at risk.
